Pilkington energiKare™ is a double or triple Insulating Glass Unit (IGU) typically used in residential sectors manufactured to EN1279. Designed to improve the energy efficiency of homes, it incorporates a low emissivity glass from the
Pilkington K Glass™ Range or
Pilkington Optitherm™ S1 Plus combined with
Pilkington Optiwhite™, which allows more heat in from the sun (passive solar gain) and helps to reduce heat escaping from the building during the winter.
Pilkington
energiKare™ can be used in windows of any frame material and further assessed to help the windows achieve a Window Energy Rating (WER) up to band A and higher. This uses a scale of energy efficiency similar to that with which other domestic items are rated. Alternatively, it can help a window to achieve a U-value of 1.6 or less with both these options qualifying to meet the requirements for replacement windows in accordance with the current Building Regulations for energy efficiency.
To help a window to achieve WER band A please see
Pilkington energiKare™ Advantage.
Alternatively, to meet the requirement for window U-value, a product from our
Pilkington Optitherm™ range should be used as the inner pane.
Window companies around the country have joined our Pilkington
energiKare™ installer scheme offering our range of products and are listed on our
