Pilkington Activ™; Self-Cleaning and Solar Control Glass

Pilkington Activ™ Clear is the world's first true self-cleaning glass. Essentially it is the same as conventional glass, except for a unique dual-action coating which works in two ways. First it uses UV rays to break down and loosen organic dirt (such as bird droppings) and then it uses rain to wash the dirt away.

Pilkington Activ™ Clear also dries off faster leaving the glass clean and with reduced streaks, which gives you beautifully clear views and makes it ideal for all the exterior glass surfaces in your home.

Pilkington Activ™ Blue and Pilkington Activ™ Bronze combine the benefits of the Pilkington Activ™ Clear coating with excellent aesthetics and some solar control performance to help keep the inside cooler.

Pilkington Activ SunShade™ Neutral (formerly known as Pilkington Activ™ Neutral) and Pilkington Activ SunShade™ Blue offer enhanced solar control through the addition of the Pilkington SunShade™ coating on the inner pane of the glass. This make them the perfect choice for conservatory roofs and walls.

Note: Our latest improved specification for Pilkington Activ™ Blue has led to a difference in the colour of  both Pilkington Activ™ Blue and Pilkington Activ SunShade™ Blue. Therefore please be aware that there may be some colour variation if you are replacing insulating glass units that were installed pre March 2021.
