Pilkington Mirai™ is a low-carbon glass that has a 52% lower carbon footprint compared to standard glass products. This is achieved through the use of alternative fuels, a high proportion of recycled glass content and the use of green electricity sources.

The plans follow Pilkington UK becoming the first architectural glass manufacturer in the world in 2021 to trial the firing of hydrogen in a glass furnace. Last year, the glass manufacturer also launched architectural glass Pilkington Mirai™, which features 52% less embodied carbon – certified as the lowest carbon glass product of its kind.

Pilkington MirroView™ is a multi-functional mirrored glass that can be used to conceal screens and digital displays when they aren’t being used. Easy to move and handle, the glass can be toughened, making it extremely durable. Its pyrolytic coating means it won’t degrade over time and it is corrosion-resistant so ideal as a long-term investment.
