Pilkington United Kingdom Limited, part of the NSG Group, has pioneered a new glass range with 50% less embodied carbon when compared to standard float glass* ‒ representing the lowest carbon product of its kind on the market.

A new coated glass product designed by the NSG Group to help reduce the transmission of microbes via surfaces in shared spaces and public transport, is ready for launch after its antimicrobial properties were verified through independent third-party testing.

The independent verification comes from a new Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) now available for Pilkington Mirai™ launched in October last year. Pilkington Mirai™ has 52% less total embodied carbon when compared to standard float glass produced by Pilkington UK.

Under the agreement, Pilkington UK will supply Morgan Sindall with its broad range of architectural glass used for energy efficiency, solar control and fire safety in residential and commercial buildings.

Pilkington OptiShower™, a range of anticorrosive and durable glass by the NSG Group, has launched in the UK to support designers specifying glass for use in high-moisture environments. It is a durable, clear glass, specifically designed to prevent surface corrosion when exposed to water, moisture and humid environments.
