What is laminated glass?

Pilkington Optilam™ is a laminated glass which is produced by bonding together two or more panes of glass with one or more interlayer materials. In the event of breakage, the interlayer will tend to hold the glass fragments together, meaning that it can be considered a safety glass. It can also be designed to resist manual and ballistic attack as well as resist explosions.
