Glass Doors

The entrance to a building is an opportunity to create a dramatic entrance and make a statement about the building or the client. With glass the entrance can be open and inviting but at the same time different combinations of glass can be used to provide for example: impact resistance,  fire protection, sound insulation, security  and thermal insulation

Specialist companies can provide revolving doors and patch fittings to create an expanse of glass with the minimum of architectural hardware.

It is essential that impact resistant glass is used in and around doors to comply with the requirements of Document N, both in terms of providing personal safety from broken glass but also reducing risk from bumping into glass panels that could be mistaken for open areas or doors. Manifestation on the glass or large door handles can be used to highlight the doors from the general glass screen.
