Activ™. Pilkington Activ™ is the world's first pyrolytic self-cleaning glass. This revolutionary kind of glass actually uses the power of the sun to clean itself. The Pilkington Activ™ coating is applied to the surface of the glass via an on-line chemical vapour deposition process.

Pilkington Insulight Activ™ is a range of insulating glass units with self cleaning properties.

Pilkington Activ SunShade™ is a self-cleaning and medium performance solar control dual coated glass: surface #1 on-line self-cleaning coating with photocatalytic and hydrophilic properties, surface #2 off-line solar control coating, with medium light transmittance and high light reflectance.

How it works Glass manages solar heat radiation by three mechanisms: reflectance, transmittance and absorptance. These are defined as follows: Reflectance – the proportion of solar radiation reflected back into the atmosphere. Direct transmittance – the proportion of solar radiation transmitted directly through the glass.

Available in thicknesses between 2 mm and 19 mm, the widest range on the market, Pilkington Optiwhite™ provides increased design flexibility. When combined with other Pilkington products, it can offer additional benefits such as thermal insulation or self-cleaning.
