Pilkington Floatglas AB, together with the fire protection glass division of Pilkington Deutschland AG, will take part in Nordbygg 2024 in Stockholmsmässan from 23-26 April.
The company was present at the first Nordbygg fair in 1980 and is delighted to be participating once again!
Visitors to stand C11:35 will be able to see Pilkington Mirai™, the latest product with a 52% lower embodied carbon compared to standard float glass. It is the market-leading low carbon glass, launched in October last year.
'Mirai', which means future in Japanese, was chosen to mark the start of the next generation of glass products with less impact on the environment. The product is the alternative on the market that offers the lowest carbon footprint with the same performance, quality, and appearance as standard float glass.
Pilkington Mirai™ was developed following a series of trials with alternative fuels for glassmaking, which NSG Group pioneered in the world. It is manufactured with a high recycled glass content and electricity from green sources.
The product can be coated with high-performance low-emissivity and solar-control coatings as well as laminated. It has an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) available on our website.
Highlighted at the stand will be a wall of Pilkington Pyrostop® Line fire protection glass, available in fire resistance classes from EI 30 to EI 120. The product is suitable for long panoramic walls built without vertical profiles. There is only a thin vertical silicone joint between the panes.
Also on show in a summer setting will be the Pilkington Suncool™ Q series, the latest solar control glass with the lowest reflectance on the market. The series includes three products: Pilkington Suncool™ Q 50, Pilkington Suncool™ Q 60 and Pilkington Suncool™ Q 70, all featuring high colour stability, low reflectance and very high selectivity. The Q-series coatings are characterised by varying levels of light transmission and g-value and provide a uniform appearance that allows different types of glass to be easily combined in the same building. Two products in the range are also available in a version suitable for toughening, called Pilkington Suncool™ Q 60 Pro T and Pilkington Suncool™ Q 70 Pro T.
Our bird-friendly glass Pilkington AviSafe™, with a unique UV-enhanced coating, will be also on display. The coating allows birds to perceive an obstacle and avoid colliding with the glass. Bird collisions are a huge problem worldwide. The product makes the built environment safer for our winged friends.
Pilkington Glasfakta 2024, the tenth edition of the company's glass handbook, will be distributed at the fair. Since the first edition in 2000, it has become a popular book among architects and customers.
