During the last edition of the MADE Expo in Milan, the Pilkington Italia team received an award for its electrically conductive NSG TEC™ glass. The MADE Awards aim to promote knowledge and excellence of the products, processes, and services of the exhibitors at MADE Expo.

Pilkington Technology Management Limited announces today that its antiviral glass development project has been successful in receiving a 100 per cent award from Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency. The project evaluates the antiviral functionality of two coated products to actively reduce viral load on glass surfaces, specifically SARS-CoV-2.

There were projects regarding energy, water, hazardous materials, waste and recycling - all critical for the environment and the NSG Group. The final award criteria focused on significant reduction of environmental impact, innovation, wider employee involvement and transferability.

As we move forward after two challenging years, an additional category of Community Projects was added to recognize and encourage the work our teams carry out with local communities. The team from Vizag, Automotive OE, India won this award for their ‘Safety Awareness in the Community’ project.

Innovative NSG TEC™ glass wins MADE Awards 2023 11 December 2023 During the last edition of the MADE Expo in Milan, the Pilkington Italia team received an award for its electrically conductive NSG TEC™ glass.

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic the Company took a decision to award a special prize for a COVID-19 focused health project. The team in Vizag, Automotive OE, India has been awarded for their ‘Combat Corona’ project. The project covers all site activities in order to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infections.

Every project clearly demonstrated a high level of commitment to safety, which can help NSG Group to achieve the highest level of safety in all-industry basis. The sixth NSG Group Health & Safety Project Award has been awarded to Automotive OE North America for their ‘Safety Patrol’ project.

The fifth NSG Group Environmental Project Award has been awarded to the VFG (Vietnam Float Glass) site for their ‘Reduction of waste hot water for glass washing’ project. This project reduces consumption of heated water for the washing of the float glass by interrupting the water spray through gaps between glass sheets on the line.
