On August 7th, Pilkington Brasil's Caçapava plant received a visit from the leadership of Banho Solidário Sampa, a social project sponsored by the company's Architectural Glass Department (Blindex) which provides baths to homeless people in the largest city in Latin America.
Bathing takes place in cabins located in a self-sustainable and environmentally friendly truck, which uses electricity generated by solar panels. After shower services, the vehicle returns to the operational base to dispose of the water into the treatment unity, where it is treated and reused. The project currently counts on 290 volunteers and has provided over 5,000 showers, 34,000 snack kits, and benefited over 10,000 people and 550 pets all over São Paulo.
For the exposition, the truck was displayed throughout the day in different locations at the Caçapava plant where NSG Group employees from all areas of the company were able to visit and learn more about the project and how it operates. It was a special day to let our internal audience know that the Group is also supporting projects that make difference in the world and continuously contributing to society. The event was attended by over 130 employees from various departments, and a special prize was raffled off to those who participated.
