Pilkington Profilit™ Opal

Pilkington Profilit™ Opal is a textured channel glass that gets its soft, velvety, milky look from the defined, sandblasted processing of the inner surface of the channel glass.

Despite its high level of light permeability, this design product elegantly obscures closer views of all persons and objects on the other side of the glass.

They are only perceptible in a shadowy, diffuse manner thanks to the opal effect - contours and colours merge into soft, cloudy patches.

Also available as texture glass with extremely smooth surface.

Spectrum Calculation Program

Pilkington Spectrum is a Windows-based glass performance model which enables you to quickly and efficiently calculate key properties of insulating glass units without the need to construct and measure them. You can use Pilkington Spectrum to provide the following information:

  • Light and solar properties (transmittance, reflectance, absorptance, g value, etc.).
  • Centre pane Ug-value.
  • Sound insulation values.
  • Ultra violet (uv) transmittance and colour rendering index (Ra).
  • Other properties (e.g. pendulum body impact resistance, fire resistance, resistance to manual attack, etc.).
