Pilkington MirroView™ Smart Mirror 


Pilkington MirroView™ is a smart mirror glass with a highly reflective mirror coating on a clear glass substrate.

Pilkington MirroView™ 50/50 offers the same qualities as the original product, yet it is designed for use in applications with high ambient light.

The Pilkington MirroView™ range is ideal for concealing digital displays and video screens for commercial and residential applications. When the screen is turned 'off' Pilkington MirroView™ maintains a mirrored appearance, which conceals the screen. When the screen is turned 'on' the picture on the video screen shows through. Pilkington MirroView™ gives digital displays and video screens a modern, transitional look.

Pilkington MirroView™ and Pilkington MirroView™ 50/50 are the next generation of non-metallic mirrors, which in addition to being suitable for standard mirror applications, are compatible with all touch screen technologies including projected capacitive touch, making them ideal for smart mirrors. The enhanced product range offers a smoother surface for better touch experience while exhibiting a more neutral reflected colour.

Spectrum Calculation Program

Pilkington Spectrum is a Windows-based glass performance model which enables you to quickly and efficiently calculate key properties of a wide range of single glazing and insulating glass units. Also available as an app for mobile devices, you can use Pilkington Spectrum to provide the following information:

  • Light and solar properties (transmittance, reflectance, absorptance, g value, etc.).
  • Centre pane Ug-value.
  • Sound insulation values.
  • Global Warming Potential (GWP), or carbon footprint.
  • Ultra violet (uv) transmittance and colour rendering index (Ra).
  • Other properties (e.g. pendulum body impact resistance, fire resistance, resistance to manual attack, etc.).
