Pilkington Solar-E™ and Pilkington Solar-E™ Plus


Pilkington Solar-E™ and Pilkington Solar-E™ Plus are a range of solar control clear or body-tinted coated glass with medium light transmittance, low light reflectance, and low emissivity.

The durable coating is applied pyrolytically during float glass manufacture to a variety of substrates, giving a range of colours in reflection – Pilkington Solar-E™ Clear & EverGreen, and Pilkington Solar-E™ Plus Blue-Green, Grey & Arctic Blue.

Pilkington Solar-E™ & Pilkington Solar-E™ Plus can be used in single glazing applications, provided that the coating faces the interior of the building.

Applications


Pilkington Solar-E™ andPilkington Solar-E™ Plus products can be used in single glazing applications provided that the coating faces the interior of the building. They provide attractive solutions to various applications where good light transmittance with enhanced solar control performance is required.

Thanks to their low exterior light reflectance the products are widely used for modern glass façades where high reflectance is prohibited or undesirable. Where a safety glass is required,the products can be specified as toughened or laminated glass.

It is well-suited to both commercial facades and residential applications where high reflectance is prohibited or undesirable, a neutral aesthetic is preferred and energy efficiency in both summer and winter is required at a reasonable price.

Spectrum Calculation Program

Pilkington Spectrum is a Windows-based glass performance model which enables you to quickly and efficiently calculate key properties of a wide range of single glazing and insulating glass units. Also available as an app for mobile devices, you can use Pilkington Spectrum to provide the following information:

  • Light and solar properties (transmittance, reflectance, absorptance, g value, etc.).
  • Centre pane Ug-value.
  • Sound insulation values.
  • Global Warming Potential (GWP), or carbon footprint.
  • Ultra violet (uv) transmittance and colour rendering index (Ra).
  • Other properties (e.g. pendulum body impact resistance, fire resistance, resistance to manual attack, etc.).
