Environmental Product DeclarationsEnvironmental Product Declarations (EPDs) provide a means for
manufacturers to provide transparent data about the environmental
sustainability of their products and for specifiers to make informed
purchasing decisions.
Product Category Rules (PCRs) provide the methodology for producing an EPD for construction products. They are necessary to enable comparison of the environmental impacts of construction products at the building level.
EN 15804 assesses the environmental impact of a construction product throughout its life cycle against a range of environmental indicators. The standard sets out the PCRs for the development of an EPD for construction products, to ensure that all types of construction products are assessed consistently using the same methodology and approaches.
