Facade & Thermal insulation

A high-performance glass façade must provide excellent thermal insulation, ensuring comfort and compliance with building energy regulations.

Key considerations:

  • Ug-value of glazing – lower Ug-values mean better insulation.
  • Comfort – prevent cold drafts and condensation inside.
  • Sustainability – reduce heating and cooling demand for greener buildings.

Recommended glass types:

  • Low-emissivity glass with low-e coatings to reflect interior heat back inside
  • Insulating Glass Units (IGUs) with argon or krypton gas fill
  • Triple glazing for maximum insulation in cold climates
  • Warm-edge spacer technology to minimise heat loss at edges
