Photovoltaics
NSG Group manufacture glass for photovoltaic panels and solar collectors. A comprehensive range of TCO (transparent conductive oxide) glass is used in the manufacture of thin plate panels used in the direct conversion of solar radiation to electricity. The high transmission properties of Pilkington Optiwhite™ is also available to maximise the available energy in solar collectors.
Solar collectors use the heat from the sun to warm panels supplied with a circulating fluid. The heat gained is exchanged by passing it through a coil that passes it to a hot water storage system providing cheap hot water. With increasing fuel costs solar collectors are more effective than ever at reducing fuel bills and paying back the cost of installation.
Our latest development Pilkington Sunplus™ BIPV, provides power generating, architectural glass solutions for both vertical and horizontal applications, allowing building proprietors and developers to turn buildings into power-generating assets.
Pilkington Sunplus™ BIPV combines the proven reliability and efficiency of crystalline silicon technology with - aesthetics, design, quality, performance and our expertise in glass. A range of products to support the transition to sustainable buildings with smart glass facades and to reach zero energy buildings.
