The opportunities and challenges for our industry are highlighted in the Glass for Europe publication, '2050: Flat glass in a climate-neutral Europe'.
Glass for Europe, the trade association for the European flat glass sector, has identified that glass is essential for renovating and decarbonising Europe’s buildings, supporting the clean mobility transition and increasing the share of solar energy in Europe.

It also recognises that, despite the success of our industry in reducing by over 40% of its CO₂ emissions per tonne of glass since 1990, major evolutions in technology and energy infrastructure will be needed to achieve climate neutrality in the EU.

As an active member of Glass for Europe, NSG Group supports its call for national governments to develop an industrial strategy to achieve carbon neutrality and introduce deep renovation programmes that will transform our existing building stock with high performance glazing and other energy efficiency measures.
