Pilkington Bauglasindustrie to Exhibit at Glasstec 2024

Press Release
06 Sep 2024
Pilkington Bauglasindustrie, a part of NSG Group, will be exhibiting its latest innovations at the World’s Leading Glass Trade Fair, the Glasstec 2024 show in Düsseldorf, Germany between 22nd – 25th October 2024.
Pilkington Profilit

Visitors to the Glass Technology Live exhibition in Hall 11 will be able to explore the latest Pilkington Profilit™ “one in 2” system with an improved intermediate flat glass panel. Instead of the standard I 220/6 low-e plus flat glass which is a low-e coated rolled cast glass like Pilkington Profilit™ with the characteristic optical appearance when low-e coated, we can now also use a laminated glass consisting of 2 pieces of 3 mm Pilkington K Glass™ with a low-e coating on either side of the laminate.

The positive effect is that the laminated coated glass has a much more neutral appearance than the rolled flat glass and thus allows for a better transparency of the overall setup. In addition, we do not need another low-e coating on the enclosing Pilkington Profilit™ shells that has an additional positive effect on the optical perception.

The physical properties remain the same as with the previously offered “one in 2” setup.

Pilkington Profilit™ is widely used in modern design-focused architecture to provide natural daylight and to contribute to the visual design. Its main application is in exterior façades and interior glazing.

We hope that our display creates interest with architects, planners and customers visiting the Glass Technology Live exhibition.

The Pilkington Bauglasindustrie team at Glasstec is looking forward to meeting all customers and visitors who would like to know more about our channel type glass range.
