FGMA

Pilkington United Kingdom Limited is a founder member of the Flat Glass Manufacturers' Association (FGMA).  Through the FGMA, we aim to promote best practice in product performance, design and application for flat glass, and positively encourages the development of industry standards and technical guidelines for the benefit of all stakeholders in the glass and glazing industry and wider society.

As an active member of FGMA, we want to raise industry standards by sharing best practice and creating technical guidelines to enable building designers, specifiers, government, regulators, glass processors, window fabricators and façade installers to better understand the design, performance and application possibilities of flat glass.

One of the key areas of FGMA activity is to develop position papers and technical guides on important issues for industry.  Documents issued to date include the following:

• Revision of BS 6180 (barriers)
• Fracture of toughened glass
• Risk assessments and glazing at height
