Pilkington Planar™, structural glazing system, helps create an impressive entrance for the new Blackfriars station.

Pilkington noise-control glass has been revealed as the secret behind a good night’s sleep for customers of the new, award-winning, Sleeperz Hotel in the heart of Newcastle. And, while the noise-reduction performance helps ensure guests sleep easy in the 98-bedroom hotel, it also plays a key role in creating a stunning visual impact for the glass-fronted building.

Zoo visitors often complain about reflections on enclosure windows, which make it difficult to see the animals. Visitors to Cologne Zoo will now have a particularly good view of the geckos without any annoying reflections – thanks to the new Pilkington OptiView™.

Pilkington Planar™ has been specified in a major redevelopment of Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham. The project included the replacement of the Pavilion Stand, central offices, as well as the conference, banqueting and media facilities.

Pilkington Planar™ has been specified in a centre of excellence for dance in Leeds. The new home for Northern Ballet and Phoenix Dance Theatre is situated on Quarry Hill next to the BBC and the Leeds College of Music.

Students at the University of Derby are enjoying the benefits of a multi-million pound refurbishment. In a major regeneration project, Pilkington Planar™ has been specified to provide a colourful multi-storey link stairwell.

Hackney Council has recently opened its new Service Centre utilising Pilkington Planar™ to house their public-facing functions and provide a work space for over 1,000 people on one site. 400 m² of Pilkington Planar™ glazing was installed on the front entrance wall to allow maximum levels of light into the internal space whilst contributing additional solar control to the building’s impressive green credentials.
