NSG Group - Proposed Changes in Board Membership

Nippon Sheet Glass Company Ltd, (hereinafter “the Company”) announces that today the following changes to Board membership (external director) were agreed.

Changes of Membership

(1) Designated members

Seiichi ASAKA  (Chairman of the Board - NSK Ltd.)
Hiroshi KOMIYA (President - General Imaging (Japan) Inc.)

(2) Retiring member

Kozo OKUMURA

Seiichi Asaka and Hiroshi Komiya join the Board as external directors.

Seichi Asaka joined NSK Ltd in 1965 and undertook various sales positions within and outside of Japan. After appointed as Director in 1994, he became General Manager Europe in 1998, Executive Vice President in charge of Sales, IR, Finance and Related Business in 2001. He was appointed President and CEO in 2002 and has been Chairman since 2009.

Hiroshi Komiya began his career with Bridgestone Corp in 1965 and led the restructuring of Firestone in the United States after Bridgestone's acquisition. In 1994, he joined Olympus Corporation as General Manager, Corporate Planning Division, appointed Director in 1997 and becoming President of Olympus Hong Kong China Ltd in 1998. He was appointed Senior Vice President and General Manager, Photo & Audio Products Division, Imaging System Group in 1999 and Executive Vice President and President, Olympus Imaging Corp in 2004. In 2007, he started General Imaging Inc in the US and is President and Representative Director of that company.

They bring to the Board extensive industrial and international experiences.

Concurrently, Kozo Okumura retires from the Board. The Board takes this opportunity to thank for his valuable contribution to the work of the Board over the past five years.

The proposed changes are subject to shareholder agreement and will be formally decided at the 144th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders, which will be held on 29 June 2010. The changes and appointments will take effect immediately following such approval on that date.
