Pilkington OptiView™ Ultra Protect

Pilkington OptiView™ Ultra Protect is a laminated glass with anti-reflective coatings on surfaces #1 and #4 (both outer surfaces of the laminated glass), which reduces interior and exterior visible light reflectance to 1%. As a result, views from both inside and outside are clear, unobscured and virtually reflection-free.

Pilkington OptiView™ Ultra Protect offers all the traditional benefits of laminated glass, such as improved safety, enhanced security, durability and acoustic properties. Furthermore, it provides protection from UV radiation (UVA and UVB) by blocking over 99% of UV transmittance, helping to reduce fading of the contents and interiors of a building.

Key Features

  • Laminated, dual-coated, anti-reflective glass with coatings on both surfaces.
  • Based on a Pilkington Optiwhite™ low-iron substrate for high clarity and colour neutrality.
  • Developed to reduce visible reflectance and allow more light to pass through than standard clear float glass.
  • When specified within an appropriate system, serves as a safety/security barrier.
  • Blocks over 99% of UV radiation (UVA and UVB).
  • Coating tested to EN 1096-2, achieving Class A.

Applications

Pilkington OptiView™ Ultra Protect is ideal for a wide range of traditional and new anti-reflective applications in which clarity of view is of paramount importance:

  • Display cases
  • Retail shop fronts
  • Showrooms
  • Glass atriums
  • Sports stadiums
  • Cabinets
  • High-value art
  • Zoos

Pilkington Spectrum

Pilkington Spectrum is a Windows-based glass performance model which enables you to quickly and efficiently calculate key properties of a wide range of single glazing and insulating glass units. Also available as an app for mobile devices, you can use Pilkington Spectrum to provide the following information:

  • Light and solar properties (transmittance, reflectance, absorptance, g value, etc.).
  • Centre pane Ug-value.
  • Sound insulation values.
  • Global Warming Potential (GWP), or carbon footprint.
  • Ultra violet (uv) transmittance and colour rendering index (Ra).
  • Other properties (e.g. pendulum body impact resistance, fire resistance, resistance to manual attack, etc.).
