Meeting Performance Requirements

Pilkington Planar™ can be tested by our own Research and Development facility, or by an independent body at the customers' request. These include Smith Emery, in the USA, Taywood Engineering and BSI, in the UK, CSTB, in France, Germany's Otto Graff Institute and NSG of Japan.

Specific results for everything from bomb blast loading to seismic performance are available, and Pilkington Architectural will carry out any further testing necessary to prove that Pilkington Planar™ is able to meet the demands of the specification.

In addition, the CIP resin used to laminate Pilkington glass undergoes 2,000 hours of accelerated life testing.
