Momentum Intersection is a collaboration of art, design, engineering, and industry. Each year, artists are selected to work with NSG Group to create new works of art to be displayed during the Momentum Toledo Festival, a one-of-a-kind glass program.

Products are shipped from its distribution centers in Columbus, Ohio and Phoenix, Arizona to external retailers and wholesale customers and its network of company-owned wholesale service centers throughout the US. The business also has aftermarket operations located throughout Mexico.

It is located approximately 100 miles southwest of Raleigh and currently employs around 400 people. NSG Group is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of glass and glazing products for the architectural, automotive industry and technical glass sectors.

While most of the industry was focusing on soft coat glass products, however, Pilkington decided to go in a different direction, developing an entirely new way of coating glass during the float glass manufacturing operation called "pyrolytic" coating.

The center will be located at O-I in Perrysburg, Ohio. “The collaboration between local industries and education partners will provide great support for workforce development, sustainable manufacturing, and also spark glass industry innovation,” said Kyle Sword, R&D Director, North America.

Pilkington made a significant step in the glass industry with the development of Pilkington Activ™, the first dual-action self-cleaning glass.

At the heart of the world's glass industry is the float process - invented by Sir Alastair Pilkington in 1952 - which manufactures clear, tinted and coated glass for buildings, and clear and tinted glass for vehicles.

Stephen Weidner, Head of Architectural Glass North America and Solar for NSG Group, will retire from NSG Group on August 2, 2025 after 37 years with the Company and 45 years in the flat glass industry.
