The sun was shining brightly as the bow was officially cut on NSG Group's newest photovoltaic solar array in Rossford, Ohio.
This new 6-acre, 1.4 MW solar array will produce over 2.5 million kWh of renewable energy annually. By way of comparison, that is enough electricity to power about 200 homes or offset about 50 percent of the electricity used at this site's Automotive Advanced Assembly Facility.
The new array, owned and operated by AEP OnSite Partners, a subsidiary of American Electric Power (Nasdaq: AEP), will provide energy to the facility for the next 20+ years under a power purchase agreement.
The build, on a repurposed brownfield site, is powered by over 4,300 advanced thin film solar panels manufactured by First Solar using NSG Group’s solar energy glass products.
