Pilkington Suncool™ Pro T

Pilkington Suncool™ Pro T is a range of toughenable off-line coated solar control glass and a colour-matched variant to the corresponding annealed versions*.

These products must be toughened before assembly into an insulating glass unit. Once toughened, the glass offers the same performance characteristics as the annealed and laminated versions.

The Pilkington Suncool™ Pro T range consists of high-selective solar control glass products for solar control with high light transmission properties, low solar factor and low emissivity.

Toughened safety glass may have to be used where there is a risk of thermal breakage, or for potentially dangerous applications, in order to comply with regulatory requirements.

* For larger projects, we recommend using glass from the same batch. If both annealed and toughened glass products are to be used, we recommend building a mock-up for the decision making.

Benefits

  • The Pilkington Suncool™ range has excellent solar control properties, which considerably limit the cooling and artificial lighting demands of buildings. Its insulating properties also make it possible to reduce heat loss to 1.0 W/m²K in standard double glazing (6-16-4) with argon filling.
  • The Pilkington Suncool™ Pro T range is available in thicknesses of 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm.
  • Pilkington Suncool™ Pro T products are only available from approved stockists, who can cut and toughen to order, enabling shorter lead times.

Spectrum Calculation Program

Pilkington Spectrum is a Windows-based glass performance model which enables you to quickly and efficiently calculate key properties of insulating glass units without the need to construct and measure them. You can use Pilkington Spectrum to provide the following information:

  • Light and solar properties (transmittance, reflectance, absorptance, g value, etc.).
  • Centre pane Ug-value.
  • Sound insulation values.
  • Ultra violet (uv) transmittance and colour rendering index (Ra).
  • Other properties (e.g. pendulum body impact resistance, fire resistance, resistance to manual attack, etc.).
