Pilkington North America and OTI Lumionics to exhibit novel transparent OLED technology at SID Display Week

Toledo, Ohio – Pilkington North America and OTI Lumionics will exhibit a novel transparent OLED prototype at the Society of Information Display (SID), Display Week at the San Jose Convention Center, San Jose, CA on May 14-16, 2019.

The transparent OLED has been produced on NSG TEC™ glass, the versatile transparent conductive coating manufactured by NSG.  The prototype demonstrates how low iron glass and OLED can provide new possibilities for engineers and designers.

“We are developing innovative transparent OLED technology to enable window-like light-up elements using NSG TEC™ glass,” said Michael Helander, President & CEO of OTI Lumionics. “Leveraging the high transparency and differentiated design feature of the NSG TEC™ glass and OTI’s proprietary ConducTorr™ cathode patterning technology and materials, these window-like light-up elements offers exciting new design possibilities for NSG TEC™ glass to meet new needs in the automotive, architectural and retail display markets. “

Neil McSporran, Business Development Manager of Pilkington North America said, “The Pilkington Optilight™ concept combines the beauty of OLED light, with the purity of color of NSG TEC™ on Pilkington Optiwhite™, to produce a unique form factor for OLEDs.”

NSG TEC™, now produced in 0.7 mm, is the world’s thinnest transparent conductive online coated glass. This and a number of other high performance glass products will be displayed at the Pilkington booth #1640.
