Triple Glazed Insulating Units

Triple Glazed Insulating Units can be incorporated into the Pilkington Planar™ System to give better thermal insulation:

  • generally they comprise of:
    • an outer pane of 10, 12, 15 or 19 mm thick glass,
    • each of the two airspace widths is 16 mm - the optimum for thermal insulation,
    • inner panes of 6 mm thick glass;
  • low emissivity Pilkington K Glass™, Pilkington Planar™ Suncoated High Performance Glass and argon filling can also be used to increase thermal performance;
  • a discrete injection moulded  boss is used to enable the bolt to pass through the three panes of glass and the airspaces and fasten back to the structure;
  • Ug-values of 0.8 W/m2K achievable.
