Pilkington energiKare™ for Trade Customers

ek logoPilkington energiKare™ glazing is designed to meet the growing demand from homeowners to reduce energy loss from homes through windows, with the benefits of saving money on fuel bills and helping the environment. You can market your insulating glass units to other trade customers or windows to householders using the Pilkington energiKare brand and join our website supplier finder which is searched by homeowners.

The Pilkington energiKare™ brand covers glazing which incorporates any of our low-e glass products in an insulating glass unit to provide enhanced energy efficiency in homes. This means that you can use either our Pilkington K Glass or our Pilkington Optitherm range or both to achieve the performance you require. These may or may not be paired with an outer pane of Pilkington Optiwhite E (low-iron) to enhance the Window Energy Rating (WER).

The Pilkington K Glass range includes:
Original on-line coated Pilkington K Glass
-       Pilkington K Glass OW the same coating but on a low iron glass substrate
-       Pilkington K Glass S off-line coated for optimum WER performance, or
-   Pilkington K Glass A; the original on-line coating with improved emissivity

For optimum U-value performance you can also use a product from our Pilkington Optitherm range:

Pilkington energiKare Advantage where a Pilkington Optitherm S1 Plus outer pane is paired with a Pilkington K Glass OW inner pane to achieve a triple glazing equivalent U-value of 0.9.

In order to reassure homeowners, window installers should ensure that IGU suppliers manufacture according to BS EN 1279 Part 2 (air fill) or Part 3 (Argon fill) and that window fabricators achieve Building Regulations for energy efficiency, currently WER band C or U-value of 1.6 W/m2K.
