The GGF has added unique and exclusive CE marking Templates to the GGF Micro-site “The Routes to CE marking”. The new Templates have been put in place to help GGF Members comply with the incoming Construction Products Regulation (CPR) on 1st July 2013.The Templates have been split into sector categories for Members’ convenience;
• Window and Doors
• Insulating Glass Units
• Processed Glass.
The first Templates to be uploaded are for those who manufacture and install products for the Window and Door sector. The Templates for the other sectors will be uploaded soon.The Templates for the suggested Factory Production Control can now be accessed and used on line. These include:
• Window and Doorset Installers, Manufacturers and Fabricators (BS EN 14351-1)
• Glass processors (BS EN 12150-2, BS EN 14179-2, BS EN 14449)
• Suggested format of records and logs required
• Examples of Declaration of Performance and CE mark labels.
Giles Willson, GGF Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Technical Affairs commented, “These Templates are yet another tool that the GGF has provided to help Members comply with the imminent Construction Products Regulation. Members who are manufacturing a product covered by a harmonised European Standard must make a declaration of performance for their products against the relevant European Standards to ensure they are operating legally.”
The GGF will be continue running the CE marking workshops later in the year to discuss what Members have done and to ensure they are confident about compliance with the CPR. Any Members who are still unsure are urged to contact the GGF Technical Team as soon as possible on the helpline number – 0844 567 4014.
