Fabricator and installer, Anders Glass, has made a £60,000 investment in a state-of-the-art Diamantking saw, an automatic machine designed to saw thick, laminated glass sheets to high output rates with precision and quality. The installation of the new technology follows an increase in customer demand for products from the Pilkington fire-resistant glass range.
Having worked in collaboration for more than 25 years, Pilkington United Kingdom Limited is the sole supplier of fire-resistant glass to Anders Glass and, over the past few months, the company has seen an uplift in the demand for its high-performance products including Pilkington Pyrostop®
and Pilkington Pyrodur®.
To meet this upturn Anders Glass has made a significant investment in the new technology at its in-house processing facility in Salford, Greater Manchester. The investment is expected to lead to an improvement in productivity, while ensuring customers continue to receive the highest level of service.
Simon Anders, managing director at Anders Glass, said: “We have worked closely with Pilkington for many years and the strength of our relationship is not only built on the quality of its products, but also the knowledge and expertise of the Pilkington team.
“Investing in this new technology will not only improve efficiency, enabling us to better service the end customer by reducing lead times and operating more flexibly, cementing our commitment to offering high-quality glazing solutions at a competitive price.”
Graham Ingle, sales manager, clear fire protection at Pilkington United Kingdom Limited added: “There is a strong demand for fire-resistant glass across a number of sectors, from commercial offices to healthcare and education. Our continued investment in research and development enables us to provide customers with a wide range of high-performing products that meet their specific needs.
“This recent investment from Anders Glass is indicative of the demand for this type of glass and we’re looking forward to continuing our work with the team as we collaborate to provide customers with the best in fire-resistant glazing.”
