A Perfect Blend Of Old And New - Using Pilkington Spacia™ To Restore Historic Glazing

06 Feb 2018
Replacing historic windows can be a long and tricky process. And the results aren’t always impressive.
The need to provide ‘like for like’ alternatives - especially in thin frames or single frame settings - makes it difficult to achieve the right aesthetic finish and energy efficiency. But choosing Pilkington Spacia™ can help take the pain out of restoration - and help create an authentic look and finish.

As the world’s first commercially available, ultra-thin vacuum-glazing it offers strong thermal and noise protection, within even single glazed units - offering the benefits of double glazing in spaces where this might not be possible. It allows users and restorers to comply with building regulations, and to maintain the appearance of older properties, without compromising on modern efficiency.

With Pilkington Spacia™ condensation levels are much lower than in traditional single glazed windows and its low weight makes it suitable for use in fittings like historic sash windows or secondary glazing.

Used in commercial properties in the UK and Japan for more than a decade, it is acquiring a reputation for effective use in private residences too.

To find out more about Pilkington Spacia™ go to or visit stand C7 at The Listed Property Show at Olympia London, 24th – 25th February.
