Pilkington energiKare™ was originally made up of two special types of glass, Pilkington K Glass™, the UK’s best selling low emissivity glass which stops heat escaping and Pilkington Optiwhite™, a special 'extra clear' glass which allows more solar heat in through the windows. With this make up, windows containing Pilkington energiKare™ can achieve the EST’s Energy Saving Recommended status. Once incorporated in suitable framing material it will normally achieve a minimum BFRC Window Energy Rating of C and can be improved to B or A by the addition of Argon gas filling or warm edge spacer bar technology.

Nowadays, with a wider means of compliance and available products, IGUs incorporating any of our low-emissivity glass types qualify to use the Pilkington energiKare™ brand.
