More than 1,900 square feet of Pilkington Profilit™ u-shaped glass have been used in a stunning three-tier, 35-foot high channel glass wall that curves around the corner of a restaurant in Houston.

The designers of the Oceanaire Seafood room located at the Galleria Mall in Houston, Texas chose Pilkington Profilit channel glass to help the restaurant to stand out amid the flat, box-like look of the rest of the mall.

The architects liked the structural stability of the glass and that it can be used to redefine how light plays into a space.  “It has the ability to hold light, but also diffuse it, which creates an evocative quality,” said Betsy Vohs, project designer with the architectural firm 20 Below Studio.

Pilkington Profilit Profiled Glass Architectural System offers a wide range of design options, including the construction of curved walls.  With its significantly higher design flexibility, it is an excellent alternative to glass block and other translucent materials.
