All that glitters is gold
09 October 2007Eclipse Advantage Gold officially joins the family
Since being introduced in late 2003, Pilkington Eclipse Advantage™ has become best selling product for Building Products North America (BPNA) throughout the world. Now, the Low-E glass family has added a new member: Pilkington Eclipse Advantage Gold™.
The first run of the new product was produced at the Group's Laurinburg, North Carolina plant in July 2007. "The new color is selling very well," said Stephen Weidner, vice president of sales and marketing. "Gold is a popular design color in many parts of the world, including the Middle East and China. Laurinburg's first run of nearly 300 tons has completely shipped."
Eclipse Advantage Gold is one of a broad palette of distinctive colors, including Arctic Blue, EverGreen, Blue-Green, Bronze, Grey and Clear glass. All Eclipse Advantage Reflective Low-E glass products outperform traditional glass solutions with a unique combination of reflectance, good daylight transmittance and low heat absorption, as well as significantly reduced lead times only a pyrolytically-coated glass can provide.
The newest color was developed with a unique characteristic - in addition to being gold reflective, it is also gold in transmission, so when you look through it, you see a gold tint versus the blue/green tint seen with most gold reflective products.
