Pilkington in Canada
Pilkington in North America manufactures glass and glazing products for the building and automotive markets. Its sales are made up of 73 percent automotive products and 27 percent building products.
The Group has six float glass lines, six automotive glass fabrication operations, and a network of some 100 wholesale centers supplying automotive replacement glass. The North American automotive business is made up of 56 per cent Original Equipment (OE) and 44 per cent Automotive Glass Replacement (AGR).
Pilkington's Collingwood, Ontario automotive manufacturing facility is located on Georgian Bay approximately 100 miles north of Toronto. The Collingwood facility manufacturers laminated windshields for a variety of automotive original equipment customers. The facility is capable of producing several forms of automotive windshields, from flatter more-traditional shapes, to the deeply curved, wrap-around designs demanded by the increasingly aerodynamic styling of today's cars and trucks. Pilkington also has a satellite Automotive facility in Whitby.
On the building products side, Pilkington supplies the market in Canada with a full range of commercial and residential glazing products. Pilkington Building Products services customers in Quebec, Manitoba, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan, Canada.
