The Pilkington Sun Management Calculator

With all the possible glass combinations that the Sun Management System brings you, we thought it would be helpful if you had an easy tool to find the performance properties of each combination, so that you could compare them before you make your final decision.

How to Use the Sun Management Calculator

You'll start by selecting an exterior aesthetic...the color you want in the finished building.

Next, you'll choose the type of glazing you want:

  • Monolithic, with just a single pane of glass

  • An Air-Filled I.G. Unit with an inboard lite of either clear float glass or Pilkington Energy Advantage™ Low-E Glass, or

  • For optimum performance, an argon-filled I.G. unit with Energy Advantage Low-E Glass.

Then, the calculator will compute all the performance values for your particular combination, and display them in a new browser window.

You can keep as many of these windows open as your computer can handle, or print them for future reference and comparison.

Finally, when you've selected the perfect combination for your project, the system will produce a custom sample specification in the format of your choice for you!

If the calculator doesn't seem to be working…

In order to use the Sun Management Calculator, you must have an accessory called The Flash Player (version 4.0 or higher) installed in your browser.

Don't worry. The Flash player is free, and easy to install.

Best of all, once you have the free Flash Player installed, you'll be able to view a lot of things on the web (like animations and movies) that you can't see now. So we recommend installing the Flash Player now.

Just follow the link below to go to www.macromedia.com, where you'll receive step-by-step instructions on how to download and install the Flash player.

If you are using Internet Explorer, the Flash Player is downloaded as an ActiveX control. On Internet Explorer 3.01 or higher, you will see a warning that you are about to install an ActiveX Control, and asking you whether you want to proceed.
You must have ActiveX enabled in your security settings to use it. See "View...Internet Options" for details.
