Group donation to China earthquake relief fund
19 June 2008The Group is making a substantial contribution to the Japan Red Cross Society, which is organising direct aid to victims of the China earthquake.
The funds will be used to provide emergency shelter, food, water, supplies and other critical assistance to the area affected.
Katsuji Fujimoto said "We have all been appalled and saddened by the earthquake in China and its aftermath. I am aware that many of you have made personal contributions to disaster relief funds and that our plants in China have also organised donations, and wish you to know that the NSG Group understands the importance of working together in times of need.
After discussion with colleagues in China on the most appropriate way for us to help, I can tell you that the Group is making a substantial contribution on behalf of the Company and all its employees to the Japan Red Cross Society, which is organising direct aid to victims of the China earthquake".
