Safety step up for Dronfield
01 August 2008The Dronfield toughening plant has achieved Level 4 of the European Evaluation Standard for health and safety.
The certificate was presented to general manager Tony Wilks by regional manager Kevin Malpass, in June. "This is a terrific achievement and all the employees have worked really hard to meet the standard," said Tony."We have done a lot of 5S work over the last year, tidying up the plant, and the total productive maintenance programme which we launched last October has also played a big part in helping us to lift housekeeping and safety standards across the board.
"We have set our sights on Level 5 now, and are looking at improving training and development and plant communications in order to reach the higher standard."
