New Neutral joins Activ family
06 January 2008A new solar control glass has been added to the Pilkington Activ™ family.
Launched in the UK in November, Pilkington Activ Neutral is a dual coated product with the self-cleaning facility on one side and solar control on the other.The new offline, non-silver based coating is much more robust than conventional offline coatings, allowing the glass to be toughened and processed as if it were an on-line coated product.
"Pilkington Activ Neutral offers a solar control option without the tint of the existing Activ Blue," said Emma Billinge, coated product manager - new products.
"The blue product has become popular for conservatory roofs but this new neutral version would be ideal for the vertical surfaces, where a more neutral appearance is often desirable."
Activ Neutral can also be used in a unit with Pilkington K Glass™ to combine solar control and low-e properties. It will be rolled out across other markets according to demand.
