Security certification for Mexicali

20 May 2008
The Group's Mexicali plant was recently certified by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as a validated participant in the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) Program.

The C-TPAT validation process was created to build stronger security partnerships, enhance border security efforts and ensure the security measures declared in a participant’s C-TPAT security profile are effective.

In its executive summary, CBP said: “Your company has demonstrated effective security within your own organization as well as a dedication to working with others to strengthen supply chain security vulnerabilities that might exist.  That is the essence of C-TPAT, and CBP appreciates your commitment and cooperation.”

“The validation process was quite extensive,” said Deborah Valentine, Customs Compliance Officer.  “This is really is a huge achievement for Mexicali as they are considered a foreign manufacturer by CBP.”
