e-Procurement

Pilkington views the Internet as an essential tool to help support and grow its operations. The Procurement function is committed to using e-commerce processes to increase efficiency in the supply chain and all potential suppliers are expected to be capable of interacting with Internet based e-procurement systems.

Pilkington uses e-commerce tools, for example, to allow suppliers to monitor stock levels in glass float plant silos and is investigating extending such applications further.

Pilkington has selected Ariba as its global partner in e-sourcing.  Ariba TotalSource will become the standard throughout NSG's operations world-wide.
