New Pilkington Optilam™ Phon

A sound choice for Acoustic Laminated Glass

Pilkington has launched its new acoustic laminated glass, Pilkington Optilam™ Phon, the ideal solution for applications that require the design flexibility of glass with the functionality of noise reduction.

Pilkington Optilam™ Phon offers excellent noise reduction and is the perfect choice for situations where there is excess noise from road, rail or air traffic, or other sources such as factories or nightclubs.

Available in a range of thicknesses from 6.8 to 16.8mm in Jumbo, Lehr End and Cut sizes, Pilkington Optilam™ Phon has been proven in tests to be compatible with most sealants and is easy to process. It also offers a minimum performance to Class B BS6206: 1981 for impact safety, even at 6.8mm.

Pilkington Optilam™ Phon can be incorporated into Pilkington's own insulating units, Pilkington Insulight™ Phon which can be made in conjunction with many other Pilkington products to provide a range of high performance design options. For example, Pilkington's Low E glass, Pilkington K Glass™ can be used with Pilkington Optilam™ Phon to provide a unit that offers both energy efficiency, meeting the requirements of Approved Document L, and superior acoustic performance.
