How to Play

The Fantasy Football game is FREE to play for the whole season.

You may only enter 1 team per entrant and if you are found to have entered more than one team, you will be removed from the game or disqualified from winning prizes - so please 'play fair'!

Please note that you will only be eligible to play Pilkington Fantasy Football if you work in the Glazing Industry and a resident of the UK or Ireland. Anyone who has won a main prize in any previous Pilkington Fantasy Football competitions (2005/2006, 2006/07 or Pilkington Fantasy VIP World Cup) will not be eligible to win a main prize in the Pilkington Fantasy Football 2007/2008 game.   They will however, be eligible to win the monthly prizes.

How to pick your team

We have got the good, the bad and the ugly of the Premiership footballers and managers for you to create your team with!! When you sign up you will receive a budget of £100 million with which to build your team.

You will need to buy a manager and 11 players.

The formation you pick will decide the shape of your squad, your tactics and how your budget is spent. Choose from 5-3-2, 4-4-2, 4-3-3 or 3-5-2 but be careful in your selection as you cannot change it once you have entered your team. You will be allowed to pick as many players from one Premiership club as the kitty allows
and a total of five transfers a month can be made. If a goal-leaking defender or goal-shy striker is costing you points, ditch them for a player who might have hit a purple patch. So long as it's within the budget of course.

How to score points

In the forthcoming Premiership season, your team accrues or loses points based on the actual individual performances of your named players and manager during league fixtures for their club side during their time named in your team.

The players will gain points by:

  • participation - by either playing the full 90 minutes or at least being substituted on or off the field of play
  • scoring goals
  • keeping clean sheets (only applicable to goalkeepers and defenders)
  • gaining a win or draw with their club side

Beware though, as it is just as easy to lose points if:

  • defenders and goalkeepers concede goals
  • players fall foul of the referee and collect red or yellow cards

The manager you select will accumlate points if his club team manage to win or draw and lose points for a defeat.

MANAGER:

You can transfer your manager in and out of your team as you would any other players in your team.

Important: The ONLY results used for the game are those initially reported by the key news agencies. If any decision is reversed from what was initially reported we will NOT amend the points already applied to teams.

Transfers

Teams will receive 5 transfers every calendar month, transfers must be made by kick-off prior to the match to be eligible to score the relevant fantasy points.

A transfer amnesty is in place until 17:00 BST on 10th August 2007. Transfers may be made for free until this date and will not count towards your allocation.

Every calendar month transfer allocation will be 'topped up'. You cannot carry transfers over from one month to another. If you have any transfers left at the end of the month you will lose them.

Players will only score points from the date they have been transferred, as long as they are made before the deadline of the published kick-off time prior to each match.

Time of transfers will be recorded as per the server clock (displayed in the top right hand side of the screen).
