E1. What is the plan for promoting Pilkington energikare™ in UK and Ireland?

The scheme is being promoted to IGU processors and window companies along with general trade through a continuous press advertising, PR and direct mail campaign to enable development of a national network of suppliers and retailers. A major part of the benefit of getting involved in the scheme is our ongoing promotion to householders including coverage in home interest journals and on-line marketing through search engines such as Google to direct homeowners to our Partner's websites.

E2. What else is being done to promote Pilkington energikare™ to potential customers?

A range of printed and point of sale materials has been produced to support promotion and sales by Pilkington energikare™ partners. Advertising to both trade and consumers is planned to further stimulate interest. Also www.pilkington.co.uk/energikare will enable customers to find out more about Pilkington energikare™, browse and download product information and find suppliers.

E3. How will customers know that the  IGUs / windows have Pilkington energikare™ installed?

Every Pilkington energiKare™ IGU will be labelled during manufacture to reassure customers of the brand and to indicate the correct orientation of IGU in the window.  These stickers will be modified versions of the current ‘K stickers’ used on standard Pilkington K Glass™ IGUs and will be ordered and supplied in the same way.

E4. Will my [window] company name be published on your website ‘supplier finder’ for homeowners?

Yes if you become a registered Window Partner, your company will be promoted on our product homeowner website. If you become a Window Associate you company will not be promoted on our supplier finder.

E5. Will my company name be published on your website as a supplier of IGUs or stock Pilkington Optiwhite™ and Pilkington K Glass™?

Yes. Registered partners will be promoted on our product trade website.

E6. Exactly how will each company’s details be served to homeowners searching for a supplier on the Pilkington energiKare™ website?

For any given postcode entered by a homeowner, all the companies split National and Local, who cover that postcode in their sales territory will be be displayed in alphabetical order of the postcode of their head office address.

E7. Can Partners just use the brand of ‘energiKare’ without reference to Pilkington?

No, the brand to be used by Partners is the same as that used by Pilkington i.e. Pilkington energiKare™.  Additionally, no differentiation is allowable directly related to the brand in the form of inferring extended performance. Extensions such as “Pilkington energiKare™ Plus” or “Pilkington energiKare™ A” are not allowable.

E8. Can I get different labels for each of the members of the Pilkington energiKare™ family?

Yes, simply call our helpline on 01744 692000 or email pilkington@respond.uk.com explaining how many labels of each type you require each quarter. You will be asked to complete and sign a short form to confirm your source of Pilkington K Glass™ and Pilkington Optiwhite™ and then we will set up a standing order for supply of labels every 3 or 6 months as required.
