Tradesmith Joins The Pilkington energiKare™ Revolution

10 February 2009
Halisham-based manufacturer Tradesmith Limited has partnered with Pilkington to supply its Pilkington energiKare™ glazing product to customers as standard. The company, established in 1993, fabricates windows, doors and conservatories to the trade, and is now one of the south-east’s premier trade fabricators. After a period of testing and investment, the new partnership with Pilkington allows Tradesmith to offer a window that is Window Energy Rated to band C. This window combines the white System 10 casement window, with shootbolt locking, with the energy efficiency of Pilkington energiKare™. The Window Energy Rating helps customers easily identify windows that will save them energy and therefore money off their fuel bills.
Mark Hutchinson, Managing Director, Tradesmith

Pilkington energiKare™ is one of the leading energy-saving glazing products, designed to reduce heat loss from homes using a technique called solar control. Using two types of Pilkington glass, Pilkington Optiwhite™ and Pilkington K Glass™, it reduces the amount of heat lost through a window and allows in more heat (energy) from the sun - thereby reducing energy loss and saving on fuel bills.

Mark Hutchinson, Managing Director, Tradesmith, said: “A partnership with Pilkington energiKare™ gives us the best products and resources, such as brochures and DVDs, which we need to sell this added-value window to our customers.

“Homeowners are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of having energy rated products fitted in their homes. At Tradesmith, we are determined to be at the forefront of the window industry, and give our installers both the product and service. These innovations will give our customers the edge they need to prosper in challenging times.”
