Scott James Commercial Goes Standard With Pilkington Activ™21 January 2010
Pilkington is proud to announce the first UK company to go standard with its self-cleaning glass Pilkington Activ™. Scott James Commercial (SJC) Ltd, has been a Pilkington Activ™ partner for more than three years, and is now supplying Pilkington Activ™ Neutral as standard in its conservatories.
SJC is a multi-faceted company that has been established in the window, door and conservatory market for the past 34 years, serving the South-East of England. It manufactures and sells conservatory roofs and designs and installs conservatories, windows and doors for a range of buildings from housing associations to hospitals.
Steve Underwood of SJC, said: “The decision to go standard with Pilkington Activ™ in our conservatories was a very easy one for us to make. Pilkington Activ™ is a stand-out glazing product, and we have seen a considerable increase in demand since we started supplying the self-cleaning glass three years ago. Having been a Pilkington Activ™ partner for a number of years, we are very aware of the quality of Pilkington products.”
Pilkington Activ™ is the world’s first self-cleaning glazing product, which uses a unique dual-action to help keep the glass clean. It uses daylight and rainwater to break down and wash away organic dirt from exterior surfaces - resulting in less maintenance and better-looking windows. Pilkington Activ™ self cleaning glass also dries off faster leaving the glass with reduced streaks, making it ideal for a variety of applications, particularly difficult to reach places, such as conservatory roofs. Pilkington Activ™ Blue and Pilkington Activ™ Neutral combine all the benefits of Pilkington Activ™ Clear with the added benefit of solar control performance for a cooler internal environment, making them the perfect choice for conservatory roofs and walls.
Andy McDowell, National Sales Manager, Pilkington, said: “We are pleased to see such a respected and established company going standard with Pilkington Activ™. Following on from the success of companies signing up to supply Pilkington energiKare™ as standard, we are looking forward to many more partnerships with our self-cleaning glass supplied as standard in the future.”
As well as SJC going standard, there have been a spate of new companies signing up to become Pilkington Activ™ partners in recent months, including H W Architectural Ltd, E S B Services Ltd, Barn Glass Ltd and Rholin Architectural Glazing Ltd. Pilkington offers a partnership scheme for companies that wish to register to supply the self-cleaning glazing.
A partnership with Pilkington means that the company will be registered as an official vendor of the Pilkington Activ™ product and receive marketing and technical support to assist with sales generation and educating the company on the technical details surrounding the glass. It also aligns the company with a recognised brand like Pilkington and enables them to benefit from the guarantee of quality associated with Pilkington products.
