Pilkington Spectrum Online Lets Glass Shine

14 August 2008
Pilkington is pleased to announce the launch of Pilkington Spectrum online, which now makes it even easier to find out the performance data of all types of Pilkington glass products.
Spectrum

The glass specification calculator allows customers, architects and specifiers to quickly calculate performance data for a wide range of single glass products and varied combinations of glass, cavities and gases. This includes vital technical information such as light transmittance, energy data including the g value, thermal insulation with the U value, which can be calculated to two decimal places, reflecting the impressive accuracy of the service.

Previously only available as a downloadable version, Pilkington Spectrum online offers all the functions of the original, but with a host of additional benefits and features.

Garry Smith, Technical Advisory Service Manager, Pilkington, explains: “A new registration process allows customers to stay informed on program updates and new Pilkington products. The Pilkington Spectrum database will be regularly updated, eliminating the need to download software or updates and ensuring users have the most accurate and up to date information possible.  New products such as Pilkington Suncool™ Brilliant 40/22 and Pilkington Activ™ Neutral have also been added to the database.”

In addition, a wider range of Pilkington Optilam™ options and processed versions of products have been added. These include toughened or heat soaked toughened, which provide transmission information for the specification of safety and security glass. All of the values are relevant for CE Marking and the printed output can be used as a complete specification for the chosen product.

Customers can register for Pilkington Spectrum online at www.pilkington.com/spectrum and a revised downloadable version will follow soon.
