Pilkington energiKare™ Partners With Direct Trade (Yorkshire) Ltd Windows

11 November 2008
Pilkington is pleased to announce its latest partnership, with Direct Trade. The company will now supply Pilkington energiKare™ energy efficient glazing in its windows as standard. Established in 1998, Direct Trade has quickly become one of the nation’s biggest suppliers of windows to the trade. Its base contains the latest production technology, operating from a 40,000 sq ft manufacturing plant, where it offers customers the latest PVCU frame systems.

Steve Green, Director, Direct Trade, said: “Direct Trade has been at the forefront of Window Energy Ratings (WERs) having been the first WHS Halo fabricator to gain accreditation. With Pilkington energiKare™ we have the right product to push the WERs forward, and now feel the time is right for our customers to take full advantage of the strength and quality of the Pilkington brand.”

Andy McDowell, UK Business Development Manager, Pilkington, said: “We are delighted Direct Trade has chosen to partner with us to supply our energy efficient Pilkington energiKare™ glazing. It has a fantastic business attitude and a great position in the market.”

One of the product’s benefits arises from superior solar gain performance, meaning that these windows now let even more ‘free’ heat in from the sun (but hardly any out), keeping heating bills to a minimum.  When incorporated into a window it achieves a BFRC WER of C or above, and qualifies for the Energy Saving Recommended scheme from the Energy Saving Trust. Pilkington energiKare™ can save homeowners up to £174 a year on fuel bills, amounting to savings of around £10,000 over a 20 year period when taking fuel cost inflation into account.
