Clive Betts MP meets us at Westminster
On 9th February 2011 Pilkington’s Managing Director, David Pinder met with Clive Betts MP in Parliament.
Mr Betts is MP for Sheffield South East and Chair of the Communities and Local Government Select Committee. The Committee is appointed by the House of Commons to examine the administration, expenditure and policy of the Department for Communities and Local Government and its associated public bodies.
Following the meeting Mr Betts raised the issue of glazing and the Green Deal in the House of Commons, asking the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change: “I am sure that the Secretary of State is aware that many older privately rented properties do not have cavity walls. Therefore they can benefit from loft insulation, not cavity-wall insulation, and external or internal cladding is often problematic. In those cases, will he consider giving extra priority under the green deal to offering assistance with double glazing?”
